A Little About Me & My Family:

My name is Jo-Anne, and I live in a big old house, upstate, New York.   I am married to an attorney and I have 5 children, one grandchild and two on the way.   My husband's name is Bruce and he is an animal lover, just like myself. 

How did I fall in love with The Shih Tzu?   Well, I got my first Shih Tzu puppy back in 1997.....By accident!    I was breeding toy and miniature poodles at the time and went to see about a poodle puppy from a good friend, (the best darn dog groomer on Long Island).  I had bought some of my poodles from her in the past.   She told me she did not have any poodle puppies at the time, but she had a Shih Tzu puppy if I would be interested in seeing her.

I have one poodle who is still with us.   He is my boy "Boomer", he is so attached to me, it's unreal.  He is a little over 10 years old now.   Still and all, the Shih Tzu's are my heart and soul and I would not give up having this special breed in my life.   I am a small breeder with 4 champions and one in the making.  

Here at Jo's Shih Tzu's, we do not have many litters, but the one's we do have are very special to us.   I raise my puppies with lots of love and care and we make sure our puppies are all socialized before they leave our home.   They are playful, loving and used to being handled by children.   My puppies are all 12 weeks old when they go to a new home on a spay and neuter contract.   They are all checked out by a good veterinarian and have their first set of shots, worming and a good health exam before they leave.   Show potential puppies will be considered to be sold to show homes only.   I love my Shih Tzu's and their sweet, loyal and lovable personalities will steal your heart. 

Here are a few pictures of our house it sets on one and a half acres of property. Our house was built in 1826.   It is a very old house, but a beautiful house.  We redid the entire house inside and out and it is very mysterious and haunted.   LOL...well, it is!

Scarlett was our first Champion. She was the love of my life. My number one favorite Shih Tzu. She slept in our bed at night with us and we loved her dearly. She finished her championship right before her first birthday. She was sweet, loving, loyal and a joy to be with. Unfortunately, we lost her at a very young age. We were devastated, and still in deep morning for her. Scarlett will be in our hearts forever. We miss her so much, she will never be forgotten. Her pictures will always proudly hang on the walls of our home. I know she is still here with us in spirit and someday I will be with her again...in Heaven :)
